12/25/2016 0 Comments Consistent CoveringMalachi 3:6 says, “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” The minute I read this, God started talking to me, and I’m simply here as a middleman, encouraging you the way He encouraged me. ![]() I am the Lord. I am not your friends. I am not the people that walked out on you. I’m not whatever disappointed you. I AM THE LORD. I don’t change. I am the very definition of consistency. I was here when it started; I’ll be here when it’s over, and when it’s all over, I’ll be the same. There’s nothing about Me that is not the way it was at the beginning of time. There’s not a thing that I had power to do then that I don’t have power to do right now. I am the Lord. Don’t hold me to the low expectations of your history. Don’t reduce me to the abilities of the people I sent around you. I am, I have always been, & I will always be bigger than them. I am, I have always been, & I will always be bigger than your situation. I am, I have been, & I will always be bigger than what brings you down. For I am the Lord….and I do not change. Because I don’t change, you aren’t consumed. You aren’t consumed by stress. You aren’t consumed by fear (I didnt even give you fear, so let’s get rid of that in totality). You aren’t consumed by lack. You aren’t consumed by depression. You aren’t consumed by failure. You aren’t consumed by your mistakes. You aren’t consumed by your sins. You aren’t consumed by negativity. You aren’t consumed by insecurity. You aren’t consumed by anything that comes against you (Isaiah 54:17). Not one weapon formed will succeed against you, including things that are apart of you. Not one weapon against your peace. Not one weapon against your joy. Not one weapon against your calling. Not one weapon against your purpose. Not one weapon against your status as a child of the one true King will prosper. Not one weapon against God’s plan for you will ever prosper. Why? Because now, and throughout the rest of eternity, He is the Lord, and He does not change. This doesn’t mean that weapons won’t form or won’t be fired . It doesn’t mean that you won’t have to fight. It means that you’re guaranteed a win. It means you’ll win if you don’t quit. I think that we often confuse the fact that the weapon won’t form with the thought that the weapon won’t hurt. We confuse victory over trouble w/ the thought of no trouble. Actually, we were assured trouble (Job 14:1; John 16:33), but more importantly, we’re assured victory as well. Stop feeding your pain, & feed the promise instead. BUT…..how do you win when the fight seems unbearable? How do you fight when the weapon doesn’t take you out, but it injures you a bit? For certain weapons to prosper, you have to die. You have to quit, but umm….it’s a lot harder to fight when you’re wounded. It’s a lot harder to fight when it didn’t prosper, but it did deeply injure your fighting hand. Let’s say that the end goal is to take you out, & it didn’t take you out, but your head isn’t in this fight like it should be. Then what? How do you win that? You look to the same hills mentioned in Psalms 121:1 because that’s still where your help comes from. You realize that the same God mentioned in Malachi 3:6, the one who doesn’t change, is the God in Ps. 121:5 & 7. He’s still your keeper (even when you injured yourself). He’s still the one who preserves you from all evil. It’s His joy to preserve your soul. Your body will heal because of the stripes mentioned in Isaiah 53:5. In the mean time, you spend as much time as you can in the Secret Place (Psalm 91). It’s there that your strength is renewed. It’s there that your body is healed. It’s there that you get the pressing power that you need. It’s there that you are reminded that He is the Lord, that He does not change, and that His consistency is what keeps you from being consumed. For I AM THE LORD, so YOU AREN’T CONSUMED. His consistency covers you & keeps you from consumption. His consistency covers you from the waves of life. When the enemy comes in like a flood, His consistency lifts a standard that will protect you throughout the ages. Wherever you go, and whatever you do, remember that He am the Lord, that He does not change, and you are never consumed. Merry Christmas! Don't forget to celebrate the true 'reason for the season'!
