This test looks for bovine genital venereal campylobacteriosis, specifically Campylobacter fetus subspecies fetus and Campylobacter fetus subspecies venerealis. The only validated specimen is preputial wash collected according to attached guidelines and transported in Campylobacter transport media, specifically weybridge media. Weybridge media may be purchased from SD ADRDL for $6.00 per tube. Call bacteriology to order weybridge or for instructions on sample collection/shipping.
