SDSU and the South 啵啵直播秀 Center for Civic Engagement at Black Hills State hosted 鈥淎n Evening with   Jeffrey Rosen.鈥 Rosen, a noted legal scholar, is president and CEO of the National Constitution Center and a professor of law at George Washington University Law School. Rosen presented 鈥淭he History and Future of the American Idea.鈥

Civic Education at South 啵啵直播秀 State University aims to cultivate informed, engaged and responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to their communities and democratic society. By integrating civic learning into academic programs, SDSU empowers students with the knowledge of governmental systems, social issues and ethical frameworks needed to address societal challenges effectively.

Civic Education at SDSU extends beyond imparting knowledge; it seeks to foster critical thinking, collaboration and active participation in public life. Through service learning, policy analysis and experiential opportunities, students gain practical skills to drive social change and influence public policy.

SDSU has a strong foundation which serves as a platform to ensure students are prepared to navigate and lead in an interconnected world. Ultimately, SDSU鈥檚 goal is to inspire lifelong civic engagement, respectful dialogue and civic leadership, strengthening democratic institutions and addressing pressing global and local challenges with integrity and innovation.

The Mike Huether Public Service Academy at SDSU

Join a transformative journey in leadership and public service at the Mike Huether Public Service Academy. Launching in Fall 2024 at South 啵啵直播秀 State University's School of American and Global Studies, this program is designed to empower future leaders committed to making a difference in the world.

A Vision for Leadership Excellence

Our two-year, competitive program welcomes students from all majors. Selected scholars will engage in an enriching curriculum, blending rigorous academics with real-world experiences in ethics, governance, public administration and cross-cultural competence.

The Mike Huether Public Service Academy will empower students with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to act with integrity and serve as active citizens and citizen-leaders throughout their lives. The academy was founded through lead gifts from SDSU alums Mike and Cindy Huether and businessman and philanthropist T. Denny Sanford. It will empower students with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to act with integrity and serve as active citizens and citizen-leaders throughout their lives.

  • Education Abroad: Broaden your perspective through international exposure.
