Biography
Heather Moser, M.S., MLS(ASCP)CM | Instructor | Medical Laboratory Science
Heather Moser joined the medical laboratory science program in August 2023. She is a graduate of South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University with a B.S. in medical laboratory science and has been a board-certified medical laboratory scientist since 2019. In 2023, Moser received her M.S. in medical laboratory science from the University of North à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã.
Moser worked as a medical laboratory scientist at Avera Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital before moving into education. Prior to joining the medical laboratory science program at SDSU, she was an adjunct instructor for the medical laboratory technician program at Minnesota West Community and Technical College, where she taught clinical chemistry courses and labs.
Moser is in a 50-50 position with SDSU and Avera McKennan Hospital Laboratory. For SDSU, she teaches courses in clinical chemistry, urinalysis and body fluids, laboratory education and leadership, and more. Moser also serves as a clinical laboratory educator within the Lab Education Team at Avera McKennan. Here she works with students completing their clinical experiences, new employee training, employee competencies, continuing education, as well as leading tours, shadow experiences and other advocacy and recruitment activities.
