Calibration Services Provided by the SDSU Image Processing Laboratory

The SDSU Image Processing Laboratory provides a variety of characterization and calibration services for optical remote sensing satellites. Our work is in the visible and infrared wavelengths. We work with civil government satellite systems and private satellite systems. Our work allows our customers to know the performance of their satellite imaging systems with respect to radiometric, geometric and spatial metrics and if their systems are meeting desired performance specifications.

Our Activities

These sections describe each of our activities, and the corresponding figures show examples of results we have provided to our customers:

Services Training

All of the expertise outlined in the previous sections also forms the basis for training activities. In each case, the customer desires to be able to perform the same work using his or her own personnel rather than hiring the SDSU Image Processing Lab. Training activities include multiday workshops with the customer at SDSU and with SDSU personnel at the customer’s location. The SDSU Image Processing Lab staff covers basic, general concepts and often customers desire more advanced training based on the type of satellite instrument(s) they are involved with, which the SDSU Image Processing Lab staff can also provide.
