Young people with an interest in swine learned more about swine production and career opportunities at the second annual South ��ֱ���� Swine Summit on June 13, presented at South ��ֱ���� State University by SDSU Extension and the South ��ֱ���� Pork Producers Council.

The Speech Communication Association of South ��ֱ���� will hold its annual conference on South ��ֱ���� State University’s campus July 24-25.

The South ��ֱ���� Art Museum at South ��ֱ���� State University will celebrate the immersive exhibition of huge blown glass ears of corn, “Primordial Shift: The Art of Michael Meilahn,” with a free public reception and panel discussion from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 27.

By the narrowest of margins — two points out of more than 2,000 — the SDSU Quarter Scale Tractor Team came up just short of winning its third consecutive national title. Competing at the 27th annual International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition at the Expo Gardens Fairgrounds in Peoria, Illinois, the South ��ֱ���� State University team placed third out of 21 teams.

Former, current and future public servants gathered April 9 to celebrate the creation of the Mike Huether Public Service Academy at South ��ֱ���� State University.

The South ��ֱ���� Art Museum at South ��ֱ���� State University will open its newest exhibition, “Termespheres: Without Beginning or End,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Artist Dick Termes will speak at 6 p.m., discussing the spherical paintings in this exhibition, known as Termespheres, and his process for creating them.

The annual South ��ֱ���� State University Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 30 faculty members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.

The South ��ֱ���� Art Museum at South ��ֱ���� State University will open its newest exhibition, “Signe Stuart: Events in Time and Space,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

After nearly two years of construction, the POET Bioproducts Center has officially opened its doors to the region's leading bioprocessing scientists. The new laboratory, located in the Research Park at South ��ֱ���� State University, will bring researchers from SDSU and South ��ֱ���� Mines together with industry partners to scale up innovative biotechnologies and varying South ��ֱ����'s economy.
