On Friday, May 9, Jessica Pfeifer will join 53 of her classmates in receiving their hoods at the 2025 Doctor of Pharmacy Hooding Ceremony. Pfeifer, who will graduate the Doctor of Pharmacy program this year, has been a recipient of the Avera Wokini Scholarship throughout her time at SDSU. The scholarship has enriched and influenced Pfeifer’s education and career as a future pharmacist.

May 10, 2025, marks the 139th commencement at South ��ֱ���� State University. More than 1,700 graduates will walk across the stage, ready to take the next step in their careers. This year, the ceremonies return to campus — inside the newly renovated First Bank & Trust Arena. After rotating through five different locations over the past seven years, commencement is back on campus to stay. But pulling off an event of this size takes more than just a great venue — it takes months of planning, a campuswide committee and one person leading the charge.

South ��ֱ���� State University’s School of Communication and Journalism has once again earned reaccreditation from the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. The prestigious distinction affirms the school's excellence in both its undergraduate programs in advertising, journalism and public relations and its online Master of Mass Communication program.

The Wintrode Student Success and Opportunity Center at South ��ֱ���� State University has renewed its learning center certification through the International College Learning Center Association, reaffirming its commitment to student success and high-quality academic support services.

Two individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to South ��ֱ���� and beyond will receive honorary doctorates from South ��ֱ���� State University and the South ��ֱ���� Board of Regents at the university’s 139th commencement May 10 at First Bank & Trust Arena.

Interior design students in the South ��ֱ���� State University School of Design are getting hands-on experience, including a top 28 finish at an international competition, all thanks to a generous donation from an SDSU alum.

Four South ��ֱ���� State University recent and soon-to-be graduates will be featured speakers at the university’s 139th commencement on May 10 at First Bank & Trust Arena. SDSU will have three ceremonies as more than 1,700 students plan to walk across the stage for their degrees.

The South ��ֱ���� State University theatre and dance program received four awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for its production of “Fuddy Meers.”

The South ��ֱ���� State University Foundation honored three generations of the Wintrode family as this year’s Philanthropic Family of the Year.

America’s newest concrete industry management academic program is continuing to turn heads as a result of student achievement. The latest feather in the cap for the program at South ��ֱ���� State University is a $10,000 scholarship won by sophomore concrete industry management major Kate Connor of Winfred. She was notified April 7 that she was the recipient of the Advancing Organizational Excellence Fellowship, which is awarded through the Concrete Industry Management trade association. She is the fourth student in the program to win a national award this semester.
