Jihong Cole-Dai, a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University, has traveled to the coldest and most remote locations in the world to collect snow and ice core samples.
The South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Board of Regents approved requests by South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University on May 9 to add two new academic programs in elementary education and special education. The programs were then approved by the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Department of Education, May 22 so they may officially launch next fall.
The acclaimed exhibition à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Modern: The Art of Oscar Howe culminates its national tour in Oscar Howe’s home state of South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã. à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Modern will be on view June 10, 2023–September 17, 2023 at the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã Art Museum at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University in Brookings.
Deirdre Cross is a Human Biology major at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University, also pursuing minors in Chemistry and Health Education. She is on a Pre-Physician’s Assistant track, with plans to become a PA after graduation. In addition to pursuing her major, two minors, and being an Honors student, Cross has also earned a Phlebotomy Certificate.
South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University's Haarberg Center for Drug, Disease and Delivery, housed in the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, has announced its second round of funding for research projects through the Haarberg 3D Center's Pilot Grant Program.

South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University’s remote sensing program has been ranked as one of the top academic programs in the world by the Shanghai Ranking’s 2022 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. SDSU’s program, housed in the Geospatial Sciences Center of Excellence, Department of Geography and Geospatial Sciences, came in at 22nd in the world and the fifth-best program in the United States. It trails only the University of Maryland, College Park; California Institute of Technology, Boston University and Mississippi State University.
