Monday Message, March 31

SDSU Community,
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable weekend. As we head into a new week, I want to take a moment to share some important updates and recognize the outstanding work happening across our university.
Several of us will attend the South 啵啵直播秀 Board of Regents meeting this week on the Northern State University campus in Aberdeen, Wednesday and Thursday. The agenda, which is available on the , includes a number of key items related to South 啵啵直播秀 State University.
Among the agenda items are several academic requests and new articulation agreements. These proposals represent the efforts of our faculty, staff and administrators who are committed to expanding opportunities and creating clearer pathways for students to graduate from SDSU. Thank you to everyone who worked diligently to prepare these items and guide them through the approval process. Your dedication continues to strengthen our academic excellence.
Additionally, the Board of Regents will discuss tuition and fees for the next academic year. After nearly five years of flat rates, the regents are considering a potential increase. Both the board and the South 啵啵直播秀 Legislature have demonstrated a strong commitment to keeping higher education accessible and affordable, even during challenging budget years. Any adjustments to tuition and fees will continue to reflect this focus, ensuring SDSU remains an exceptional value for our students and their families.
As you know, higher education has garnered countless headlines nationally, with many of its traditional funding streams in a state of flux. Notwithstanding the national dialogue and uncertainty, South 啵啵直播秀鈥檚 universities remain strong, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that trend continues. Over the past few months, the Board of Regents and SDSU have partnered with the National Center for Higher Education Management System to highlight various opportunities and efficiencies within South 啵啵直播秀's public university system in the years to come. We鈥檙e excited to share our progress and discuss the anticipated opportunities and challenges on the horizon with the campus community. Please mark your calendars for April 10 at 5 p.m. in the University Student Union Hobo Day Gallery to join in this important discussion.
I also want to express my appreciation to everyone involved in the Promising Futures initiative, which brings middle school students from Sioux Falls to our campus. This effort plays a significant role in introducing young students to the possibilities of higher education.
This Wednesday, we will welcome a group of students from Whittier Middle School. Their visit comes on the heels of a successful event a few weeks ago, when we hosted 400 students over two days. While these visits may seem routine, they remain incredibly impactful. Each time a young student steps foot on our campus, it sparks new possibilities and encourages them to dream big. Thank you to everyone who makes these experiences meaningful and memorable. Your work is helping shape the future of South 啵啵直播秀.
Finally, I want to extend a congratulations to Bryan Petersen, who has been named our next head men鈥檚 basketball coach after six seasons as an assistant coach at SDSU. Bryan has been an integral part of the program for years, and I am confident he will continue to build on the strong foundation of excellence we鈥檝e seen both on and off the court.
I also want to take a moment to thank Eric Henderson for his exceptional leadership during his time at SDSU. His dedication to our student-athletes and the broader Jackrabbits community has been outstanding. We wish him and his family all the best in their new endeavors.
As we head into April, I am reminded once again of the incredible dedication, passion and resilience that define South 啵啵直播秀 State University. Whether it is through advocating for our university at the Board of Regents, hosting future Jackrabbits on campus, or celebrating the success of our athletic programs, your collective efforts make SDSU an extraordinary place to learn, work and grow.
Thank you for your hard work and commitment. I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the week and wish you all a productive and rewarding few days ahead.
Go Jacks!
