Student Grievance Process
- The student should share their concern or grievance with the Office of Student Accessibility. Staff members within the Office of Student Accessibility will work with the student to find a solution.
- If the student feels the issue wasn't properly addressed by the Office of Student Accessibility, they can email the director of the Student Engagement Center or call 605-688-6494, who will also work with the student to resolve the problem.
- If the student is still not satisfied, they can reach out and email the dean of students or call 605-688-4493.
- If the issue remains unresolved, the student can email the Office of Title IX/Equal Opportunity or call 605-688-4128.
Any student who believes they were treated unfairly because of gender or another protected category is encouraged to contact the Office of Title IX/Equal Opportunity .
Responses can be expected within 15 calendar days.

What if I am dissatisfied with a professor's decisions regarding academic accommodations?
- The student should first discuss their concern with the professor's department chair.
- If they are not satisfied with the result, they should then bring the issue to the dean of the college where the department is located.
- If the student is still unhappy with the outcome, they can take their concern to the university's provost office.
What if I feel that I unfairly received a parking ticket and would like to challenge it?
Parking Services has an online process for ticket appeals that can be accessed through your online parking account.
