Single Item Slider – Paragraph Component

Use the slider paragraph component to showcase a series of images in a carousel view with a short description.

When to use it
  • When your highlighted items have short descriptions and compelling images.
  • Showcase images with links to more details about work, research, student groups, projects, etc.
  • Add style.
  • Can be used to showcase some images without links.
Where to use it
  • Can be used both inside/outside in a normal group.
  • Use inside normal or narrow group.
Features
  • Maximum of four slides per paragraph.
  • Add images. Horizontal images work best
  • Add short description and title for each slide. Keep descriptions short. One brief sentence is best. Long text may cover the image and make it hard to see. Description and title appear in the lower left corner of the image.
  • Main title and description are optional.
  • Option to add primary or secondary links.
  • Add links to specific sliders.
  • Choose a background color: bone or white.
  • Arrows let users navigate through the images, while dots below indicate the number of slides. A blue dot shows which slide is currently being viewed.

How to Add – Single Item Slider Paragraph Component

  1. Log into Drupal.
  2. Go to page you wish to edit.
  3. Click on + sign to enter a new paragraph component inside or outside of a group.
    1. Click on + sign and add a "Group" first, if putting content inside of a group.
  4. Choose Single Item Slider paragraph.
  5. Complete the form details.
    1. Title: Optional
    2. Background Color: Bone or white
    3. Margin Setting: Default or none
      1. This is the space above the paragraph.
    4. Description: Optional
  6. Click the carrot icon to expand Links section
    1. Primary Link: Optional
    2. Secondary Links: Optional
  7. Click the carrot icon to expand Slides section. You can add up to four slides.
    1. Image: Required
    2. Slide Title: Optional
    3. Slide Description: Optional
      1. Keep descriptions short with one to two brief sentences. Long text may cover the image and make it hard to see.
    4. Slide Link: Optional
      1. The title and description will be used as link text.
  8. Click Save before exiting the paragraph.
  9. Save page as "In progress" or "Ready to Review."
