Party on the Porch 2025 poster for McCrory Gardens. Free live music every Sunday in September from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Performers: Oak Lake String Band (Sept. 7), Across the Missouri (Sept. 14), Minimum Maintenance (Sept. 21), and P Skunk (Sept. 28).

Fall Festival
  • Free admission all day!
  • Dog Day of Fall – Bring your pup to the gardens for just $1 donation (must be on a leash).
  • Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt – Find all the scarecrows made from natural elements.
  • Food trucks – 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (or while supplies last): La Petite Crepe, Let Me Be Frank and Karma's Korn
  • Hayrides through the Arboretum – 1-4 p.m. Tickets purchased on day of event only – ticket sales begin at 12:30 p.m.
    • Ticket pricing: Adults (18-plus years old) $10; youth (6-17 years old) $5; SDSU students (with valid student ID) $5; 5 years old and younger are free.
  • Cyanotype class – 10 a.m.-noon
    • Preregistration and fee – $25 plus Eventbrite fee (Sign-up link coming soon, stay tuned!)
  • Fall Floral Arranging class – 1-3 p.m.
    • Preregistration required and fee – $25 plus Eventbrite fee (Sign-up link coming soon, stay tuned!)
    • Participants are to bring their own containers (small to mid-size)

McCrory Gardens is the Alice in Wonderland of gardens. At every turn a new garden opened up to you. I spent an hour walking through the gardens and still didn’t come close to exploring it all. Highly recommend.

McCrory Gardens has been awarded a Level 1 accreditation by the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum for achieving particular standards of professional practices deemed important for arboreta and botanic gardens. The ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program is the only global initiative to officially recognize arboreta at various levels of development, capacity and professionalism.
