SDSU’s College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences will host a series of field days across the state this summer. Topics will include crop production, livestock production, precision technology, field station tours (pictured here) and other topics important to local producers.

Weed management, virtual fencing and variety trials are just some of the topics that will be covered during the 2025 slate of Research Station Field Days presented by the South ֱ State University College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. Events will be happening at locations across the state from June to mid-September, with each one focusing on local topics of interest.

“South ֱ is unique in the Midwest for how varied the different regions of the state are, especially when it comes to what types of production agriculture thrive in those areas,” said John Blanton, associate dean of research for the college and director of the South ֱ Agricultural Experiment Station. “Each of our research field stations is set up to represent its location within South ֱ and the type of farming happening in that region. We take pride in conducting research that applies to the local areas and considering what farmers in those areas are interested in and could benefit from.”

Each field day will feature guided tours showcasing the work being conducted at the research field station and the information will be presented by university and SDSU Extension researchers and staff. More details about individual field days can be found below.

While there is no cost to attend the field days, registration is highly recommended in order to get accurate counts for food and resource materials. Visit the South ֱ Agricultural Experiment Station website for more information and registration as it becomes available.
