Arts at The Oscar

Get ready for an unforgettable experience! Our Arts at The Oscar headliners, Broadway star Julius Thomas III (Hamilton: The Musical) and Big Band frontman Mark R. Kopitzke (The Glenn Miller Orchestra)—also known as The Kings of Soul & Swing—are hosting a special Masterclass before the event!

Where: Founders Recital Hall, Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center
Who Can Attend? Available exclusively for Arts at The Oscar ticket holders (tickets will be checked at the door).

Support a "Night of Stars," showcasing local artists of all ages who will flood the venue with their artistic talents.

6 p.m. – Opening ceremony
6:30 p.m. – Local talent showcases
8:30 p.m. – The Kings of Soul & Swing (Dancing will be encouraged.)
10 p.m. – End

To start the evening, guests will arrive at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center starting at 5:15 p.m. and will enjoy a social hour with appetizers and drinks. We will have local musicians playing live music in the lobby. At 6 p.m., guests will be escorted into the Oscar Larson Proscenium Theatre for an opening ceremony. The ceremony will welcome guests, awards for local recognition or awards for art will be presented, and the evening’s schedule of events will be presented. The opening ceremony will provide a launching point for the rest of the evening.
Following the opening ceremony, the building will be flooded with performing and visual art showcases. Every venue space will have art displayed or performed by Brookings-area artists. We will have showcases broken out into age groups including 18 and younger and 19 and older.
