Campus Partners of the Year ֱs

Each year the SDSU Student Body recognizes outstanding faculty on the Brookings campus through the Students' Association Campus Partner of the Year ֱs. Anyone current SDSU student can nominate faculty from across campus and the nominations are reviewed by the Students' Association Board of Directors. There are four different categories including: Professional Academic Advisor, Faculty Advisor, Student Organization Advisor, and the Campus Partner award.

Professional Advisor of the Year

Erica Quam

Erica Quam

Title: School of Communications & Journalism Academic Advisor

Erica won the 2022 Professional Advisor of the Year award for her passion for helping students, not just academically, but with navigating all aspects of life. She consistently goes out of her way to ensure students have a solid graduation place and feel comfortable with where they are at. Congratulations Erica for being the 2022 Professional Advisor of the Year!


Faculty Advisor of the Year

Dr. Lisa Hager, Assistant Professor of Political Science from the School of American & Global Studies

Dr. Lisa Hager

Title: Associate Professor of Political Science

Dr. Hager was nominated for this award due to her unmatched devotion to the student learning experience in the classroom. Her detailed and constant course schedules as well as her responsive and clear communication styles boosts her student's success. Congratulations Dr. Hager for being the 2022 Faculty Advisor of the Year!


 Student Organization Advisor of the Year

Zhiguang Wang

Dr. Zhiguang (Gerald) Wang

Title: Professor of Business Finance and Investments

Dr. Wang was nominated for this award because of his dedication to Investment Club's success. Being the founding member of the club, he has grown active participation to over 50 members and has nearly 200 members on the organizations email list. Congratulations to Dr. Zhiguang Wang for being the 2022 Student Organization Advisor of the Year!

Angie Courteau

Angie Courteau

Title: Secretary for Event Services

Angie was nominated for this award due to her helpful nature and energetic personality. She is very knowledgeable regarding all things SDSU and will also take the time to help students whenever the need arises. She is very responsive in helping set up meetings, reserving rooms, and the many other tasks students ask for on a daily basis. Congratulations Angie for being the 2022 Campus Partner of the Year!


About Each ֱ

The Professional Advisor of the Year ֱ is awarded to an outstanding professional advisor who has gone above and beyond for their students. Nominations for this award open during the middle of the Spring semester and all students are encouraged to nominate their advisor. Nominees must advise a professional academic program and currently employed by South ֱ State University.

The Faculty Advisor of the Year ֱ is awarded to an outstanding faculty member who supports Jackrabbits throughout their time at SDSU. Nominations for this award open during the middle of the Spring semester and all students are encouraged to nominate a faculty member they feel had an impact on their time at SDSU. Nominees must be classified as a faculty member and currently employed by South ֱ State University.

Student Organizations are the backbone of student activities and success! The Student Organization Advisor of the Year ֱ is awarded to an outstanding student organization advisor. Nominations for this award open during the middle of the Spring semester and students are encouraged to nominate their student organization advisor. Nominees must advisor a current student organization and be employed by South ֱ State University.

The Campus Partner of the Year ֱ is awarded to an individual that has gone above and beyond supporting the everyday roles and functions of the university providing a greater SDSU experience. Nominations for this award open during the middle of the Spring semester and students are encouraged to nominate individuals from across campus that have supported them in a variety of ways. Nominees must be currently employed by South ֱ State University.
