
Testing Center
The mission of the South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University Testing Center is to assist individuals in reaching their academic and professional goals by providing a secure, friendly and comfortable environment where exams are administered, proctored and scored with integrity. The testing center adheres to the standards set forth by the National College Testing Association Professional Standards and Guidelines.
SDSU Testing Center Services
The South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University Testing Center provides a range of academic and professional testing services for SDSU students and the community. Registration for most services is completed through RegisterBlast. However, national exams require registration through our test partners.
A physical ID is required when checking in for testing appointments. Digital forms of ID are not allowed. See exam partners for specific ID requirements.

SDSU students may also register for exams on MyState under the Student Life tab at the bottom of the page. If you frequently register for exams, you may want to add the Testing Center portlet to your favorites (Options > Add to my favorites).
- You must schedule your exam at least 24-hours in advance. If inside the 24-hour period, please schedule for the next available time and contact the Testing Center for assistance.
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment. We cannot start testing early without prior approval.
- If you are 30 minutes late for your appointment, you will be considered a no-show and your appointment will be cancelled.
Testing Center staff must follow the procedures outlined below to insure the integrity and security of all exams. Some items may not be allowed in our testing rooms due to test security guidelines. These restrictions may be set by your instructor, the testing center, or to meet the security standards of our testing partners. Please review the restricted and prohibited items below before your exam.
Check-in Procedures
Upon arrival at the SDSU Testing Center, you will:
- Be on video surveillance.
- Be asked about parking. Students must park in the lot associated with their parking permit.
- Be asked for a physical ID.
- Be asked to power off your phone, smartwatch and/or fitness band. You must show a staff member it is powered off.
- Be provided a locker for any belongings.
- Be subject to security checks.
Restricted Items
If allowed by your professor or testing vendor, these items may be permitted upon inspection:
- Calculators
- Notes or scratch paper
- Books
- Pens or mechanical pencils
- Sweatshirts or hoodies (allowed upon inspection)
- CLEP does not allow hooded sweatshirt or sweaters.
- Glasses (must not contain wearable technology)
- Medicine (please notify staff if you need access to medicine while testing)
- Candy, mints, gum, etc.
- Jewelry (Professional exams only allow wedding jewelry - all other jewelry must be removed and stored)
Prohibited Items
These items are not allowed in our testing rooms:
- Food or drink
- Personal electronics (phones, tablets, laptops)
- Any device with cameras or optical readers
- Watches or fitness bands of any kind
- Tobacco products
- Hats, scarves or other head covering (allowances are made for religious head coverings)
- Keys (other than the locker claim tag provided by the SDSU Testing Center)
Wallets, bags, purses or backpacks

The SDSU Testing Center is just south of the Dairy Bar, located between Berg Agricultural Hall and The Barn. There is no direct road to the Testing Center. Follow the directions below to reach the Testing Center.
- From Medary Avenue, turn to the east into Lot 110.
- Drive east across Lot 110 and turn right and drive south to exit the lot where you will see the Testing Center building at the end of the drive.
- Lot 111 is adjacent to the Testing Center building.

SDSU students must park in their assigned parking lot.
The five reserved Testing Center spots are for non-SDSU testing candidates and do not require a parking pass.
Ask the Testing Center staff for a parking pass if no Testing Center parking spots are available.
