SDSU Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club

The SDSU Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences Department (VBSD) is home to the SDSU Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club, called the Pre-Vet Club for short. This student led organization meets regularly and is advised by a veterinarian from the VBSD faculty. The club is active in sponsoring special seminars and hosting speakers on the topics of veterinary medicine and à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã health. They participate in VBSD outreach efforts to high school students, helping them understand the process of becoming a veterinarian. There is good interaction between the club and the local humane society. They also take educational field trips to the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Since our pre-vet students are also pursuing bachelor degrees in other departments, they are usually members of other clubs in the college as well. Club participation is strongly encouraged as a great mechanism to enrich our student’s education and to develop their leadership skills.
