Michael Walsh, professor of music at South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University, will present a recital of music for clarinet at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 30, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on campus.

Walsh will be joined by colleagues Xuan Kuang on piano and Aaron Ragsdale on percussion.

The recital will take listeners through a tour of mainland European countries and also features American jazz and Irish folk music. Alec Wilder’s Sonata combines classical forms with American jazz. Clemence de Grandval’s Two Pieces are highly regarded as some of the most important 19th century music written for the clarinet. Ferruccio Busoni's Concertino combines the operatic style of the day with virtuosic technique.

The recital is free, and the public is invited to attend.
