South à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã State University announces the inaugural concert of its new University Chamber Music Series, featuring acclaimed Fargo-based organist Benton Schmidt in a solo performance on the Founders Recital Hall organ.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center on the SDState campus.

Schmidt will present a dynamic program of iconic organ repertoire, including masterworks by Johann Sebastian Bach, Charles-Marie Widor and Louis Vierne, among others.

Schmidt has studied organ performance with some of the most recognized teachers in the United States and is known for his expressive interpretation and technical brilliance.

Adding a unique collaborative element to the evening, select members of the SDState Concert Choir will join Schmidt for two moving performances that highlight the ancient art of chant, blending the rich sonorities of the organ with timeless vocal traditions.

This event is made possible through the generous underwriting support of local friends of chamber music, whose commitment to the arts has helped launch this new series celebrating excellence in small ensemble performance.

Admission is free and open to the public. All are invited to attend an evening of exceptional artistry and musical heritage.
