Nutrition and Exercise Sciences Program

A Healthy Career Choice

Nutrition and exercise play a significant role in disease prevention, health promotion and rehabilitation. The integration of knowledge from the fields of nutrition and exercise sciences is necessary for our graduates. Because of the strong translational movement in the health field, we need individuals who are capable of integrating nutrition and exercise in the field of research as well as in the clinic.

Graduate Admissions Application Process

Students interested in applying for the M.S. or Ph.D. programs in nutrition and exercise sciences can follow the online application process. The programs do not have separate applications and do not require the GREs for admission. Once a student’s graduate application is complete, the graduate admissions will forward this information to the nutrition or exercise sciences program director. One important note is that it will be important that students select either the exercise science or nutrition science specialization, as this information will allow us to make appropriate advising decisions.

Key Materials for Graduate Admissions

  • Application fee of $36
  • Official transcript(s) – current at time of application.

If students have not completed a bachelor’s degree at the time of application, an official copy after the degree is complete is required.

Assistantships

Students interested in applying for graduate assistantships should contact Lee Weidauer. For graduate assistantships, a letter of interest, current resume/cv and a list of three references will be required.
