Strategies for Academic Success (ACS 111)

ACS 111 is an academic intervention course for students who have been readmitted following academic suspension. This course addresses critical academic and life skills students will be able to utilize to support their success at SDSU. Throughout the course of the semester, students will have the choice of meeting with a counseling practicum student in individual meetings.

Academic Recovery (ACS 140)

ACS 140 is a course designed for students who have been placed on probation to help them regain good standing. Students are matched with peer mentors, who are SDSU students regularly attending ACS 140 to interact with and get to know their peer mentees during class. Students then meet with their assigned peer mentor throughout the course of the semester.

Partners include: the American Indian Student Center, A Next Generation Leader in Engineering Scholars Program, International Student and Scholar Engagement, Student Connection and Engagement and TRIO student support services. Students participating in an early orientation program move in early and engage in a variety of activities that ease their transition to college, strengthen academic skills, learn about campus resources and foster a sense of belonging at SDSU and the Brookings community.

Summer Bridge’s access focus aligns with SDSU’s mission and core values and supports the Pathway to Premier 2030 strategic goals of affirming student success as a foundational university priority and increasing retention, persistence and graduation rates.

We are grateful!

The Academic Success and Recovery Program is funded by the Robert E. Litke Mentoring Program.
