TRIO Upward Bound

The goal of TRIO Upward Bound is to increase college enrollment and graduation rates for students from low-income households and/or those who will be the first in their families to attend college.

About

The program provides academic support, emotional encouragement and assistance with the college application and financial aid process as a means of overcoming social barriers to higher education. It strives to teach students the skills they will need as they aspire to go to college. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education (Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965).

In addition to academic instruction and support, Upward Bound seeks to reinforce core values of respect, physical and emotional safety, academic integrity, investment in student growth, personal accountability/responsibility and development of self-esteem.
